“Passage to Zarahemla” is a tale of daring rescues, breathtaking adventure,and constant danger from forces both ancient and modern. It’s a love story between a teenage girl and a boy from different times. Fierce attacking forces from ancient times change the lives of one modern family. In a certain forest hollow of southern Utah there exists a place where the centuries coverge, where time becomes a watery, uncertain subtance, and where the civilizations of two separate worlds overlap in a vortex of time.

A hunter, Kerra’s father, chase a wounded elk into the woods. An arrow rips through the vortex and strikes the hunters shuolder. Twelve years later 17 years old, Kerra McConnell and her 11 year old brother, Brock re-enter the picture. They live in poverty in Southern California. Their  mother, dead from a drug overdose. Kerra has not seen her father since she was four or five years old, making the two children orphans.

Together they steal the social worker’s car and flee  the state. Kerra takes them to the only relative that she remembers from her early childhood – her Aunt and Uncle in Utah. While there, Kerra discover a rifle in the undergrowth of the forest – a rifle with the name of her father etched into the wood. For the first time Kerra realizes that her father may be alive, and that he did not leave his family when Kerra was five years old, but was somehow caught up in a war between two ancient civilizations.
